School and Youth Groups

Earth Science for Society (ESfS) is a free event, open to the public, which showcases the importance of Earth Science in our everyday lives. Presenters at the four themed pavilions, Resources and You, Energy for Us, One Dynamic Earth, and Our Future! will give dynamic demonstrations and have interactive exhibits for experiential learning. The ever-popular Yukon Dan gold mining exhibit will be returning and ESfS will be running a fossil station!

Earth Science literacy has so much to offer everyone, including future generations of society. Besides careers for geoscientists, environmental engineers, computer programmers, IT people and data managers, there are opportunities for surveyors, safety and rescue personnel, helicopter pilots, mechanics, engineers, sales and marketing people, personnel managers, and many more. Students will gain insight into many prospective occupations.

We look forward to welcoming school and youth groups in 2027!

Youth group visits will take place the afternoon of Sunday, March 14, or the evening of Monday, March 15, 2027.

School visits will take place on Monday, March 15 and Tuesday, March 16, 2027.

School time slots on Monday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 17, 2027, are available. Groups registering for a full-time slot will be added to the waitlist.

In 2026, we welcomed 19 youth groups and 12 schools for a total of 1,831 young people and 540 chaperones for guided visits.

Registration will open in the Fall of 2026. Stay tuned!
